Due to the popularity of their remodeling tips series, Silva decided to add onto their original list of home remodeling tips to get homeowners as prepared as possible. Their five new tips are:
Remodelers can do some great things, but they can’t read minds. Let the company supervisor or owner know if anything if there are any problems or unsatisfactory work so they can deal with the issue. They might not know that there is a problem.
Pamper Yourself, in the Right Way
Unless you actually spend time luxuriating in a bath on a regular basis, forget the whirlpool tub. Spend your remodeling dollars on things you’ll use and enjoy every day, like a luxury shower with dual heads.
Protect the Kids
A house remodeling is a great way to get kids involved in helping, but for very young ones it can be dangerous. Be sure to install child safety gates, electrical safety covers and store sharp tools well out of the way of curious tots, especially on off-hours where there may not be adequate supervision in the remodel zone.
Don’t Forget the Pets
When doing home remodeling, consider the safety of your pets, which could necessitate having a family member or friend pet-sit your animals while the work is being done. This is especially necessary when the doors are left open for bringing tools and materials in and out.
To make any house remodeling as efficient as possible, pack up or move away items in the remodeling zone. For a whole-house remodeling, consider renting an offsite locker or storage space, or onsite storage area to keep your belongings safe and clean during the process.
